Magico Paese di Natale” takes place in the little village of Govone, into the hills of Langhe-Roero, the wine region in Piedmont – Unesco World Heritage Site. This is one of the most important Christmas event in Italy, a magic experience that gives the opportunity of feeling Christmas atmosphere in a special place. In winter time, the entire village of Govone turns itself into the magic kingdom of Santa Claus, with a lot of cultural and gastronomic attractions.

There is the wonderful Christmas market, with artisans selected all over Italy. There is a Street Food area and a Magic Kingdom Wine shop, where visitor can find all the traditional local delicacy. But the unique experience that identify this incredible Christmas village is the amazing musical show of Santa Claus, hosted every day in the scenographic Savoy royal castle of Govone.

Great news awaits for the 2021 edition of Il Magico Paese di Natale, one of the longest-running, loved and popular Christmas events in Italy and 11th in the ranking of the best Christmas markets in Europe for the prestigious European Best

After a 2020 edition that was forced to move online all the entertainment, for the fifteenth edition of Il Magico Paese di Natale we are happy to announce an extraordinary event, which aims to be the engine of the tourism revival of the entire Piedmontese territory. Il Magico Paese di Natale, for its 2021 edition, will extend its Christmas magic out of the small town of Govone, the town that has hosted it since its first edition, and will invade the Cuneo ski areas and an

important Piedmont center: the city of Asti.

Thanks to the new collaboration, in fact, the Magical Christmas Village for its fifteenth edition will be doubled, infusing the Christmas atmosphere also in the Asti area, and building a grandiose regional manifestation. Govone will remain the traditional heart of the event, the one that made it so loved in the past fourteen editions, with the House of Santa Claus with its musical, entertainment for children with Queen Antea and many other initiatives.

At the same time Asti will host a parallel Christmas event, with the construction of a Christmas market that aspires to become largest Christmas market in Europe. Two hundred Christmas stands will be set up in Asti, and all together will tell the story of the best artisanal and food and wine excellences from all over Italy. The exhibitors, representing the best that each region of our country has to offer, will in fact be selected thanks to an important call to action that will invite the best local realities to participate to the most important and richest Christmas market in Italy.

Every day in the scenographic Savoy royal castle of Govone, on the top of the village, takes place the amazing musical show of Santa Claus, an original performance that changes every year. Hundreds of live actors perform the musical every quarter of hour for the visitors, and at the end of every performance the public can meet the real Santa Claus. 

One hundred of artisans selected all over Italy sell their items in the beautiful Christmas market in Govone. Here you can find objects, toys, gift ideas and – obviously – the best tipical Italian food.

Govone is a wonderful town into the hills of Langhe-Roero, the wine region in Piedmont – Unesco World Heritage Site. Here you can see the magic of the street made of stones, of the ancient houses and, above all, of its wonderful Savoy royal castle, that dominates the village from the top of the hill.
